2013/12/9· Any FYI. the bypass pipe don''t connect direct to the waterpump. The bypass pipe sits under the intake manifold along the drivers side of the engine. The water pump sits in front of the engine. If I recall, the radiator fan connects to the waterpump. While, your in there
Gaskets are the bane of most complex vehicles, but that doesn''t mean that every time the coolant is leaking from the Chevy 3.8 motor the intake gasket is leaking. The problem can also be a leaking coolant bypass tube, and this video will show you how to diagnose
2016/10/6· I don''t know the name of the tube but it''s a hard line from the water pump to the engine block. It usually has an Oring seal if it not pressed in the pump. If it is pressed in you won''t be able to get it out so it should come with a new water pump.
THe hose connecting the bypass pipe to the throttle body leaks when driving, stop and wait with engine running a few minutes it stops, You can run the engine for as long as you want and no leaks. This could be many possibilities such as a fuel leak, or a problem
2014/10/26· Finally changed the water pump that was leaking since the day I bought the D. Parts I used: goodyear#62404 (radiator lower hose) + reused the old spring, goodyear#62403 (radiator upper hose), AcDelco water pump and Feelpro water pump gasket. Since I already changed the bypass hose …

2012/1/3· My dad and I just replaced the water pump on my ''99 5.2 Durango, and we are having problems with the bypass tube. We installed the new pump and tube, but destroyed the original o-ring in the process. After going through a couple of o-rings from Napa, we got the tube in with an o-ring, and sealed it with ultra blue, however, I have noticed that it is still leaking.
Most water pumps have a "weep" hole, or a bypass hole that lets water flow through it in case the pump bearings and seals have failed. Dripping water or a rusty appearance at this loion indies a pump shaft or seal failure. You can also wiggle the water
2007/5/15· This is achieved by the ''bypass'' pipe between the manifold and the water pump. The bypass has the added function of moving the block-heated water past the thermostat which will open if necessary. Once the thermostat opens, the water tends to follow the path of least resistance, so although you''ll still get some flow through the ''bypass'' line, the majority will flow out the thermostat housing
2013/7/2· I replaced the water pump 6 months ago. It''s fine. Along with the radiator, radiator hoses, heater hoses, fittings, clamps, and timing chain all at the same time. A coolant leak developed the other day from the bypass hose which is what prompted me to take apart

Behind the water pump housing, the valve that connects the heater bypass hose (about 1" diameter) to the engine, below the thermostat housing/water outlet, has snapped off. There''s still a piece of that valve in the water pump housing but I don''t know if it''s screwed in or not.
2012/12/25· I reduced the bypass with 3/8 90* fittings. Found a "U" 3/8 preformed hose in stock at a auto parts (kept the P/N). This makes the hose easy to change and reduces the amout of water that bypasses the radiator helping cooling. Have had to remove the pump or
2015/10/7· Just a few months after having the water pump replaced due to a leak (and recall) my Cruze started leaking again. This time I was told by the service tech that it is coming from the by pass assely and its not covered under warranty. This comes just a few days

2009/7/26· On my 89 Dak 4x4 with the 3.9L V6 every three years I would have the replace the bypass hose from the intake to the water pump. The hose would develope a crack on the back side and it there would be a very small anoying smell of hot coolant. The first time it did
Toyota''s with the 22-re motor have a coolant bypass hose under the intake manifold thats not the easiest to see or replace. In my experience this has been a

How do I get the bypass fitting off as it seems to be pressed in to place. I got a spare new pump (marked for an AU2) but the bypass fitting on the new one is a clamp style which wont do a direct replacement.
